Sr. Education Specialist

Located in Los Angeles County, Oera Education LLC is a one-stop study abroad service organization for international students looking to study or are currently studying in the United States. Our team aims to provide international students with education, transfer, prestigious school registration, emergency academic response, academic counseling, academic and personal background improvement, and other services for studying in the U.S. Our services cover enrollment to American colleges and universities as well as high schools.

Due to an increase in importance for students to demonstrate their English language abilities, our company is in need of the professional services of a Sr. Education Specialist to professionally coordinate and develop our instructional programs, curriculum, standards, and materials for English language improvement. The Sr. Education Specialist will develop and oversee a new English program for students who are studying to pass a language test to apply to their desired school. The Sr. Education Specialist will also train and guide our Student Advisor and Student Essay Advisor on how to better assess the English skills of our students.

The hired individual will perform the following duties:

• Conduct needs assessments to develop the basis for our English learning/testing improvement curriculum development and to update our curricula when necessary;

• Review our English learning/testing improvement programs, syllabi, and instruction delivery methods and recommend ways and new strategies and technologies to implement to improve our programs;

• Guide our Student Advisors and Student Essay Advisors in the use of materials, equipment, and instructional methods to better assess the English skills of our students;

• Design and develop instructional materials, presentations, conversation and reading exercises, quick-reference materials, study aids, and audio/video scripts necessary to meet student educational needs;

• Adapt our ESL learning products for online instruction and ensure our digital course materials are organized according to lesson plans for remote learners;

• Review and objectives and goals of essay evaluation and student advisement to develop English assessment standards for Student Advisors to utilize in determining the English proficiency level of students;

• Review and recommend updates to our program documents (e.g., handouts, syllabi) to ensure they meet our company’s standards and students’ needs;

• Train Student Advisors on ESL concepts to ensure proper evaluation of students’ English abilities and appropriate strategies for student improvement if needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree in teaching, education, or related;

• 6 months’ work experience in developing the curriculum and instructional materials for English language courses;

• College coursework in language learning and teaching.
